Context: |
|
Pulp blending and chemical additions are carried out in a variety of ways. After pulping and consistency adjustment, furnish pulps are generally stored individually in large chests. From these chests the pulp slurries are usually pumped through refiners and into another set of individual storage tanks. From the refined pulp storage chests, the appropriate volumes of refined pulps are simultaneously pumped into a blending tank, and along the way, solutions or suspensions of chemicals and fillers are fed into the stock lines with metering pumps. |
