Pronunciation
Subdomain (1st level):  Properties
Subdomain (2nd level):  Physical properties
Grammatical category:  Simple term
Grammar notes:  Countable
Definition:  Instrument for measuring the air permeability of paper.
Definition source:  Brewer (2003)
Context:  Resistances to air flow and oil penetration depend on the number and sizes of pores within the structure and are relevant properties for printing and absorbent tissue grades. The actual measurement of apparent pore sizes is not routinely carried out and requires specialist equipment. For example, a mercury porosimeter measures the incremental increase of volume penetrated as the pressure rises (42).
