EN 13
Context:
Machine calenders, either hard nip or soft nip (Figures 12.1.1 and 12.1.2) are located immediately before the paper machine reels. They often perform the final operation before the paper is slit and converted, and are then required to bring the surface roughness and gloss to desired mean levels and within acceptable limits for machine finished (MF) papers and boards.
