Definition:  That part of the paper machine in which the wet pressed paper web is dried. It is the most massive part of the machine and usually takes up as much space as the other parts combined.

Context:  The dryer section receives the paper web from the press section at a moisture content usually between 65% and 50% (moist basis) and continues the water removal process by evaporation until, in most cases, the sheet reaches the moisture level required for finishing and converting operations, normally in the range 3.5 - 9% depending on the composition of the paper.
