Definition:  Process that consists in reducing flakes into constituents fibres by means of the deflaker.

Context:  Refining is one of the most important stages in papermaking affecting the running of paper machine and especially the final paper properties. Deflaking in stock line may be required and recommended especially in cases of continuous pulping or with some raw materials, typically with CTMP or flash-dried pulps.
